Welcome to the ultimate web site for the modern Blues enthusiast who wants to learn more or just find great links to different music equippment that can help your journey into finding your own "signature" sound. My idol of the Blues guitar is the late Stevie Ray Vaughan. Since I cannot learn by reading music, I rely heavily on my ears and eyes. I have every SRV cd you can get in a music store to date and all the videos as well, and thats how I've learned, by watching and listening. People that can actually do this have a little more of an advantage, but no matter how you learn, if you've got the right gear it makes it easier and more enjoyable to learn. I've wasted too much time and money on buying junk equipment where if I had just waited a little longer I could have gotten a good deal on some really worthwhile stuff for just a little bit more cash. Here are some tips for buying gear that hopefully can keep you from getting screwed over. 1. Make sure it has a trusted by musician name brand, but remember that everybody has a preference, so don't buy it because the store owner tells you its top of the line and that he owns one, because that guy (or girl) probably has a totally different opinion in what sounds good than you. 2. If the company's known for making one type of product chances are any other type of product they make will suck. 3. If your going to buy a patch cord (the cord that runs from the guitar to the amp) pay the extra few dollars and get one with a lifetime warranty. ( which should have repairable 1/4 in. input jacks on both ends. 4. When buying a used guitar, always make sure there is no rust on the bridge (tremolo or non tremolo) and the strings and tuning keys aren't rusted. 5. If a pedal is what your after than may I suggest buying a pedal that doesn't have 10,000 sounds when your only looking for a simple overdrive. ( don't get me wrong, effects pedals are great if you have a wide variety of different sounds you need for a playng list of 50 songs on a road gig ) Cheap gear that is unrelyable and only bought for the simple reason that its cheap will, in the long run, do nothing but make your hair fall out from stress because they let you down right before or in the middle of a gig. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

My interests: |
My free time is mostly spent in my basement with a 98' Fender stratocaster, four pedals (Vox wha,73'Ibanez analog delay,Danalectro Cool Cat chorus and a Boss compression sustainer) an amp and my best friend Jon Breake holding the bottom with his bass which he diligently exerts to keep up with me on. I'm sure that there are alot of players out there who can relate to me on this one because thats where it all starts, in the basement, driving your parents crazy listenin' to the songs that you play, faithfully keeping the prayer in your heart that maybe someday it will take you somewhere. Below I have some links that will take you directly to the websites where some of the best equippment can be found. P.S. I put the Hartke link in there with you in mind Jon, and I know there are bassists who will appreciate it too.
